Inclusion, Diversity & Equity
How we’re building a space where everyone belongs, where Builders feel seen, heard, respected, and valued.

Building authenticity
Diversity of thought, diversity of background, diversity of lived experience. We value the uniqueness of every individual, and actively encourage, respect, and celebrate different perspectives. It’s how we live our core value Celebrate Authenticity.
What we’re doing
Ours is a culture fueled by creativity, innovation, and teamwork. We believe that a team is at its most effective when it reflects a breadth of capabilities, experiences, ideas, and opinions. And it’s a commitment we strive to uphold every day.
Widen the circle
We offer employee and client trainings and groups that help us expand our minds, sharpen our perceptions, and make our circle of inclusion even wider.
Inclusion councils
Our councils help oversee our ID&E practices, actively assessing inclusion and diversity issues, setting strategic direction, and prioritizing our actions, both locally and globally.
Recruit a better future
We're going outside the channels that tend to narrow our views in an effort to find candidates that represent the rich diversity of our communities, partners, and clients.
Build Dialog Series
We all get better at this by communicating in a candid, direct manner in a space where Builders feel safe to speak honestly about their lived experiences. It’s a powerful, necessary experience.
Promotion readiness coaching
People show readiness differently, and it’s rarely an if/then process. We’ve developed rigor around identifying divergent strengths that can be cultivated to grow the Build leaders of tomorrow.
Location leaders
Every Build location has a leader dedicated to ID&E. They’re responsible for ensuring our efforts seamlessly incorporate into day-to-day operations and updating the company on progress in monthly Town Hall meetings.
Employee Resource Groups
Safe. Secure. Supported. Employee Resource Groups provide a warm, welcoming place to connect and share experiences and perspectives to help Builders live their truth.

I was interviewing someone last week that said “in my 30-year career, you are the first company who's ever explicitly mentioned ID&E in an interview, and I appreciate that. That sets you miles above.”

Action not promises
At Slalom, we're committed to justice, humanity, and equality. In June 2020, our CEO Brad Jackson outlined our stance against racism and introduced seven committed actions to drive profound and lasting change. Now we're tracking our progress.
Hackathons, with a twist.
Curiosity, collaboration, community. And time? Our Hackathons are multi-month journeys of discovery, reflection, ideation, and iteration. They encourage us to share our expertise and ideas, to fail fast and prove quickly. And while we’re advancing our skills and pushing the boundaries of possibility, we're also piloting meaningful advances for clients, technology, and some of society’s greatest challenges.
